Degrees and Programs

Kor-In offers Two residential programs which are duly accredited by ATA (Asia Theological Association)

General Requirements

Candidates who seek admission to Kor-In must have:

  • Completed 18 years of age as on 31st May of the year of application.
  • A definite Christian experience.
  • A clear conviction that they are called to God’s service.
  • A desire & willingness to be prepared for effective Christian ministry.
  • A reasonable proficiency in the English language.
  • All candidates are required to take an Entrance exam for English competence.
  • Based on the performance in the exam, candidates may be required to take additional Foundational English courses.

BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY (B.TH)

Three year fully residential program is designed primarily to qualify graduates to function as leaders or ministers.

Program Objectives

  1. To inculcate firm foundation in Biblical Teachings.
  2. To inculcate positive attitude towards the practical issues of the society with a Christian perspective.
  3. To discover and nurture the preaching, teaching and leadership skills.
  4. To communicate the gospel in cross cultural contexts.
  5. To defend Christian faith in multi-religious contexts.

Entrance Qualifications

  • Successful completion of 12 years of schooling or its equivalent, such as the Pre-University Course.
  • In special cases, older mature candidates (25 years and above) who may not have completed the schooling may be admitted upon successful completion of the Diploma program and/or fulfilling a qualifying assessment.
  • Credits from non-accredited institutions are to be accepted only on the basis of validation or a period of probationary study.

Graduation Requirements

  • Successful completion of 108 Units [36 three credit Courses]
  • An Assessment of field education involvement.
  • An assessment of character, spiritual development and ministry commitment.

The program will be completed within three years. In exceptional cases, the Academic Dean may allow an extension, but not more than five years from the date of registration.

MASTER OF DIVINITY (M.Div.)

Regular (3years program)

A three year fully residential program granting the Master of Divinity degree is designed primarily to qualify graduates to function as Pastors/Leaders/Ministers.

Program Objectives

  1. To inculcate Biblical spirituality that will emerge in whole life discipleship.
  2. To develop research skills that promote a deeper understanding of the Biblical Truths.
  3. To nurture the leadership skills and abilities for the various ministries of the church.
  4. To demonstrate critical thinking and moral discourse in cross cultural contexts.
  5. To be able to test ideas for Biblical fidelity and contextual appropriateness.
  6. To be able to defend their faith in multi-cultural contexts.

Entrance Qualifications

  1. Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a second class from a recognised University.
  2. Th. graduates from non-ATA institutions should write the qualifying exams related to Biblical Studies, Theology and Ethics, Religion and Society and Church History and Missions. The passing grade for the qualifying exam is C.
  3. In special cases, older mature candidates (30 years and above) who may not have completed the schooling may be admitted upon successful completion of the qualifying assessment. However, not more than 10% of the classes will comprise of this category of students.

Graduation Requirements

  1. Successful completion of 90 units (30 three credit Courses).
  2. An assessment of practical ministry skills in Teaching, Preaching and Leadership
  3. An assessment of character, spiritual development and ministry commitment.

Upgraders

Entrance Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree with a second class from theological colleges accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) or the Senate of Serampore College (SSC)
  • One-year practical ministry experience.

Graduation Requirements

  • Successful completion of 60 units [20 three credit Courses] for theological Bachelor degree holders (Upgraded students i.e., B. Th. Degree holders).
  • An assessment of practical ministry skills in Teaching, Preaching and Leadership
  • An assessment of character, spiritual development and ministry commitment.

The program will be completed within three years. In exceptional cases, the Academic Dean may allow an extension, but not more than five years from the date of registration
